Halter and lead are soft, pliable, washable, fade-resistant, colorful, and have no hardware to cause possible injury to hands or horse’s eyes. Halters are available in average Horse size, Large Draft Type, or Yearling/Pony. If you feel you need a customized fit, please email us and we can accomodate you! Halter material is made from climbing rope manufactured by PMI Rope. Colors vary as new shipments come in. Halters are hand tied which offers custom fitting for your favorite horses!
Leads are made from top quality boating/sailing rope.

Great for training with the H2H techniques…
In the program, we have found that the continuous reins are the best option for the comfort of the horse and human as they learn to master the techniques. When using traditional Split Reins, we have found that when the rein is dropped on accident, even just Occasionally, that it easily interferes and frusterates the horse and ultimately the human as well. Clear, concise cues are the ultimate goal, and helps to master the Feel of the human student. Even when we have ‘conveniently’ tied the split reins together for ‘makeshift continuous reins’, the weight of the knot can drop unwanted weight into the rein at the moment of necessary release…again causing confusion for the horse during each repetition or exercise. Consistency in repetitions is key for progressing the horse and especially essential for maintaining a level of trust from the horse and confidence in the techniques being applied to him.
During the 3 R’s, Request -Response – Release, it is absolutely important that the tools are used properly and that ultimately the human is able to master the most subtle of Request and Release, the FEEL of the Relationship.
For your hands, these reins are also soft, and easy to grip, one of my favorite parts.

Tapper

These dressage whips were nicknamed “Tappers” by Horse2Human to symbolize the purpose of this tool. These are never used negatively as the term ‘whip’ refers, but are merely used to help communicate the horse2human language in a safe and reasonable way. By tapping the horse in various areas for needed attention, or simply drawing or waving signals of boundaries; are just a few ways the Tapper is used in the Horse2Human programs.

For purchase through Horse2Human of the Advanced Rope (60′ XS rope), you must be a graduate of the Level 2 program. For the safety of both the horse and the human, it is important that any individual attempting the exercises used with the longer rope have a skilled understanding of how and why the exercises are used.

The Lariat rope is a great tool for the desensitizing and general introductory training. Used mostly in the round pen, it is also a great tool for more advanced steps in training.

Leg Protection

Front and Back boots are great for both Support and Protection. It is important to consider that the horses are learning to ‘Dance’ a new language. This involves learning to use their feet/bodies in ways they don’t expect or are trying to decipher the next expectation and request. Just as when we learn to use a new dance routine, or a new language, we feel awkward in the foundation or beginning stages of the program or teaching process. The words or phrases don’t flow; the steps are remembered at the last second causing imbalanced movements and taking away our rhythm and smooth presentation.
Not only are the horses trying to feel out the expectations or the easiest way to the Release, they are also concentrating on various things throughout the learning process or stages…the feel of the bit in their mouth, the tightness around their belly, and weight over their back, or simply the body language being presented by the human. Horses react without knowing what may come next, and all of these distractions within their senses can cause them to mistep. movements which can sometimes cause pulled muscles or even tendons, etc.
All in all, a horse that is uncomfortable…emotionally, physically, and mentally…will sometimes step on themselves or become off balance and lose their normal ability to support the tendons and ligaments. Or sometimes as we increase the challenge to improve their physical stamina, we want to avoid any possible minor injury from lack of strength or even a momentary lapse of concentration.
We ask horses to do so many things that they wouldnt normally do in their most natural environments. But many things that we DO with them in the average equestrian world can be taught in a way that helps the horse to develop safely and comfortably AND most of all, we have the tools to prevent that slight chance of injury!

Full Cheek Snaffle Bit

As part of the Horse2Human program, it is important that all training techniques and the equipment used is comfortable and easy to use for both horse and human. The full cheek snaffle design is great for the formative or introductory training because it offers clear signals and a comfortable design, as well as prevention of misplacement which is common with some snaffle bits. With the full bars at the cheek area of the horse’s face, this keeps the bit from sliding through the mouth as it is common for horses to manipulate and try to move the bit around during the first introduction. Until the signals become more clear and comfortable for the horse, these bars help to keep the bit in place and in turn offer more clear and precise signals from the humans hands. Snaffle bits are also designed in a ‘broken’ or moveable style to offer more of a give with the pressure of each cue, so as not to give the feeling of a forced cue but just a mere request for action. This is the big difference between snaffle bits and curb bits which have a solid bar.
Anytime a horse is forced or dominated into an action, this can cause fear and unwillingness which draws the relationship away from a genuine connection.
